How will the partnership between Agile Alliance and PMI influence the evolution of project management, and what opportunities or challenges do you foresee in blending traditional and Agile methodologies?

This is just the next step in the journey which PMI started back when the Sixth Edition of the PMBOK Guide was published when they partnered with AA to develop the Agile Practice Guide. They continued that with their acquisition of Disciplined Agile in 2019.

If they do this correctly, and acquire additional agile-focused IP, they would be able to add a fair bit of rich content of specific methods into the foundation of DA which supports all approaches - predictive as well.
