What are your thoughts on the most important skill to acquire in 2024 and why?
From my side.. In an increasingly complex and competitive project landscape, the ability to negotiate effectively has become a cornerstone of successful project management. This year, I believe that negotiation is the most crucial skill I can develop to enhance our project outcomes.
What about you? Saving Changes...

I find all the comments above contain the important skills. I would add also artificial intelligence on two levels: usage of AI in the day to day work as project manager and evaluation of the added value (yes/no) of a artificial intelligence on a specific project.
AI is just one of my tops this year! Thanks Laura! Saving Changes...

I seek to leverage AI to improve access to education and training, mostly by having AI translate educational materials beyond Spanish and Portuguese without infringing on copywrites.
Shea I fully support leveraging AI to enhance educational access. AI-powered translation can significantly expand the reach of educational materials beyond Spanish and Portuguese, making them accessible to a global audience. We will ensure all translations adhere to copyright regulations. Thanks! Saving Changes...
I can´t identify just one ... But, what about learning on how to learn with the assistance of AI? Could that help us to meet our learning goals? Could that be a desirable skill ...? And if so, where and how to learn it?

Raúl those are excellent questions, and I agree that the answer would be yes. Learning how to learn with the assistance of AI could definitely help us meet our learning goals. It’s a highly desirable skill in today’s rapidly evolving environment. As for where and how to learn it, there are many options, from online courses and workshops to hands-on experimentation with AI tools. Embracing this skill could not only improve individual efficiency but also enhance team productivity and project outcomes. Let’s explore ways to integrate this into our learning strategy!

Hi, Francisco Herrera, I guess you meant 2025 :-) I believe that it is crucial to provide value that can't be delivered by AI or other novel automation tools. A silly example can be seen in the preparation of slides; AI can make these in a matter of seconds (surely, still need a lot of tweaks, but this will improve at a fast pace). The key skill is to ensure that the audience recognizes the added value and vision that the PM brings behind the slides themselves.

Hi Eduard, thanks for the correction. I'm still getting used to writing the current year. I completely agree with your comment. As a project manager, it's essential to ensure that the value and vision we bring are clearly recognized, beyond what AI or automation tools can offer.
