Hi All, I have been managing projects for the past 6+ years as a Product Marketing Manager. I would like to become PM certified, but according to the eligibility requirements I need 35 hours of education/training. There is so much to choose from, I am not sure what course is right for me, and will also meet the requirements. Any recommendations? Thanks, Sara Saving Changes...
Hi Sara, It really depends on your current knowledge level. 35 hours is the equivalent of a 3 credit university course so spend the time on something of value to you rather than just meeting the requirement.
If you already have experience with different PM skills, then a basic intro to PM class would count but you probably won't learn much however a PMP exam prep course could help translate what you already know, to the PMI terminology. I used a PM case studies course from my masters program. The requirement is very broadly written so just about anything PM should count, whether general topics or a specific focus area. Also, don't discount past Power Skill courses you might have taken. Courses in negotiation, communications, team building or conflict resolution are all fair game. The important thing is to ensure that you have proof of completion along with things like the course agenda or curriculum.

Hi Sarah J, I started with the 35-hr bootcamp on Percipio by Skillsoft for the PMP and I was very happy with the program and the extent of exam alignment. Over the years I used that as my main jumping off point for the PMI-ACP and other certifications like PSM.
