HI There,

I achieved PMP back on 2005, my company at the time happily supported PDU efforts and costs. I then moved to a different company who required Prince2 and MSP (based in the UK) After several different companies requiring Prince2 and MSP, I'm now at a company that wants everyone to be PMP certified and are happy to support the costs.

Given I've been in Project and Programme management roles for the last 20 years and have many qualification that would add PDU's whats the best approach to re-enable my PMP without having to go through the exam path again ?

Many thanks

Michael

Unfortunately, if you let your PMP certification lapse and it is considered Expired and not Suspended (see https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...dbook-new.pdf), then chances are you will have to go through the full certification application, payment & examination process again.

You could contact PMI Customer Care to see if they are willing to make an exception in your case, but the online references to this only list active service in the military, health issues or being on maternity leave as valid reasons.

Michael, I agree with Kiron's feedback on both fronts. I've heard of cases where exceptions were granted, though they were different than your case is, so try contacting PMI and see what they say.
