Hello PM Colleagues,

I am an American CAPM who has been diligently learning Portuguese for over 600 days on Duolingo. Now, I'm eager to transition to an in-person class environment to further improve my skills. However, I've found it challenging to find such a modality for Portuguese. For example, my local community college lists Portuguese courses, but they haven't scheduled any classes for years.

I'm looking for a group of people and an instructor who are empathetic and supportive—people who understand that making mistakes is a part of the learning process.

Do any of you have recommendations or ideas on how I can find an in-person Portuguese class?

Thank you!

Hello fellow Marylander. Here are a few ideas:
1. This link may prove useful: https://www.listenandlearnusa.com/portuguese/washington-dc
2. Try searching Craig’s List or a similar site to find people offering to teach Portuguese.
3. Contact the Embassy of Portugal in DC. They should definitely be able to connect you with a teaching resource.

Sean, try and check with your local PMI chapter as they do sometimes have or are aware of similar programs!
