Maria -

To add to the great ideas from Krishnakumar, you could also join the Namibia chapter and look for some in-person volunteer opportunities with that chapter. Their website is: https://www.pmi-namibia.org/

If you like "to enhance my skills while supporting PMI's initiatives" then my recommendation is going to your local PMI´s chapter. What you will find in the volunteer page will not help you with that just in case you are accepted to one opportunity. Just my opinion, no more than that.

Maria,
volunteering with PMI is certainly a good idea for your own development and those you serve. I started volunteering in 1998 and never stopped.
The PMI volunteering website offers positions in global virtual teams (like developing exams or standards) and from Chapters around the world, if they use the system. Otherwise, Chapters may have their own local volunteering programs. The best is to contact a local Chapter.
Most volunteering today is virtual so that you can do it from home. But if you live or work close to a Chapter location, they might offer face-to-face meetings too.
Most PMI volunteering is still internal, serving PMI and Chapter membership, for example with organizing webinars, writing newsletters, coordinating mentors.
Some volunteering is external, serving communities outside PMI, for example by helping NGOs with project management skills, teaching kids. PMIEF and PMWB are organizations within PMI dealing with such volunteer tasks, they might have representatives in your local Chapter.

Let me know if you need help to navigate this.

Maria, as my fellow colleagues mentioned, you can go to the VRMS Volunteer platform through your PMI profile. Another option would be your PMI Local Chapter as almost every chapter has a volunteer program including mentorship, and others.
