As PMI community members, how can we make a difference in the wake of natural disasters? Show your support for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires
Head of Community, North America| PMIBarrington, NH, United States
As leaders in the project management community, we have a unique opportunity to rally together and bring hope, support, and tangible assistance to those impacted by devastating natural disasters like the Los Angeles fires. The strength of our community lies in our ability to take coordinated action when it’s needed most through:
1. Organizing Local Efforts: Consider using your networks to identify immediate needs in your area and mobilize volunteers to meet them. Whether it’s coordinating supply drives, offering professional services, or assisting recovery efforts, your expertise can make a difference.
2. Collaborating Across Chapters: Reach out to neighboring chapters to share ideas, resources, and manpower. Together, we can amplify our impact and support broader recovery efforts.
3. Engaging Peers: Encourage your fellow project professionals to contribute their skills—whether through direct volunteer efforts, leveraging their project management expertise to help local organizations, or providing support to those in need. Consider how project professionals can support immediate needs as well as long term recovery and rebuilding efforts.
4. Sharing Success Stories: As you take action, share your efforts and outcomes. This not only inspires others but also ensures we collectively celebrate the incredible work our community is doing.
Share your knowledge and experiences in the comments below to rally support for our LA Chapter and the communities impacted by the recent fires:
