Methodologies vs. Winging It

This weeks column addresses in large part the need for methodology, but intelligently applied. Scalability, adaptability and relevance for a purpose are critical to successfully being able to use a process, and to use it well.

What are your real life examples? What are the great examples of process that you have encountered? What are the awful ones? Where have you been successful with process? Why?

And what are the things organizations can/should/have done to allow them to be successful?
