Hi Surya,
I want to thank you so much for your intention to pursue PMP certification.

But to pursue the PMP® certification, you need to meet specific eligibility criteria. Since you have 2.5 years of experience as a Quality Analyst and plan to complete an MS in Project Management from a GAC-accredited program,

Its seems that you will be well-positioned to apply for the PMP certification.

The key points:

- Education Requirements:
- A four-year degree (bachelor's degree or global equivalent).
- 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® certification.

- Experience Requirements:
- With a four-year degree: At least 36 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years.

Your MS in Project Management will fulfill the education requirement. However, you will need to ensure you have 36 months of project management experience. Your experience as a Quality Analyst may count if it involved leading or directing projects.

Please note that after completing your MS, you will need additional project management experience to meet the 36-month requirement. Once you have this experience, you can apply for the PMP certification.

Best,
Golam

You have to be leading projects. I'd recommend downloading the PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO) here: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...65b69e1c69700de

It contains details of the common tasks a PM would perform and is the basis for the exam questions. It can be used as a checklist to see if your experience is applicable.

Surya, PMI recently updated their PMP application requirements and introduced a third option: If you’re earning your degree from a GAC-accredited program, you only need 2 years of project management experience to apply for the PMP.

You don’t need to hold the official title of Project Manager, but you must be actively involved in project management activities and leading projects. Be sure to review the document that Kiron shared for more details.
