Recently, PMI (Project Management Institute) launched a new guide for Project Management Offices (PMO), which highlights the growing importance of PMOs in the project world. I think it's great to see more recognition for PMOs, as they play a key role in aligning projects with organizational goals and ensuring consistent delivery. Have you had a chance to read the guide yet? I would love to hear your thoughts on it, especially on how it might impact PMO practices and the overall approach to project management.

Danny -

I've done a quick once over on it - I'm a bit surprised at the file size being as large as it is!

The value ring framework is very comprehensive and provides good guidance to help PMO leaders focus their efforts. The assessment tools are also very useful.

I really liked the Organizational Contextual Scenarios as those resonated well with my personal experiences leading and consulting with PMOs.

While there was some discussion of where a PMO "fits" in the organization, this is a topic which would have benefited from a lot more coverage as well as more coverage of hierarchical PMO models which are found in very large companies

I was less of a fan of the maturity model framework as I find all discrete level maturity models to be over simplifications of reality.
