AI is a board term. AI is using in program/project/portfolio management from more than 30 years ago. Most of the time people are not aware about that mainly because AI is embedded into the tools they are using to perform their work. With that said, the other thing is to define what does mean "strategic outcomes". For example, if all related to portfolio is considered as strategic outcomes the use of AI and mainly a subset of AI which is generative AI can help from portfolio strategy formulation and so on up to create the right solutions to achieve the objectives including or related to perform DMAIC cycle. Additional to define what strategic outcomes means the use of AI will depends on your defined life cycle and approach.

I agree with the responses provided to some extent. In summary, Project managers can use AI to achieve strategic outcomes by integrating it into portfolio strategy, resource management, and performance tracking. AI can enhance project management. To maximize its impact, it's crucial to define what "strategic outcomes" mean within the organization, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and vision. Implementing clear metrics and KPIs allows for continuous improvement, while AI-driven insights support proactive decision-making.

All in all, AI plays a key role in streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and driving measurable business value.
