I see many times Agile projects are not successful as initial planning is not done to define the product vision and high level scope. What kind of initial planning is required to make Agile projects successful?

Thanks

I've seen more complex projects run into problems when there is no design work up front. For these types of projects, I look to the tools in Disciplined Agile Delivery. In addition to a vision and product roadmap, these projects require a high-level architectural design to get them moving in the right direction.
