In the pharmaceutical industry and many others, Quality by Design (QbD) ensures that quality is built into processes from the beginning rather than relying on corrections later. How can PMOs leverage this approach to avoid inefficiencies, reduce rework, and create a system that delivers consistent value?

QbD is just one of many quality management philosophies which can be applied to the project management domain. Having a quality plan for the project which considers both QA and QC activities throughout the lifecycle, assigning a qualified quality lead for the project, and ensuring that quality objectives are not sacrificed to meet artificial deadlines are all ways to bake quality in rather than tack it on afterwards.
