CAPM Cert while waiting for PMP Cert?

I am a year away from having the 3-year minimum work experience to apply for a PMP Cert., however, have met all the other qualifications for the PMP Cert.. Should I apply/take the CAPM Cert. exam in the meantime (are there any advantages/disadvantages to doing this besides the exam fee $), or just wait the extra year and take the PMP at my 3-year mark? Looking forward to receiving some feedback!

I can say it's better to wait for one year and then go for Project Management Certification .
