Absolutely! I do it all the time. You just have to be careful not to try to project manage your spouse or significant other.

Yes, absolutely the PMI model can be adapted to manage daily life projects.
Whether or not I want to use it - given that anything from making a cup of tea to moving house can be considered a project - depends on the complexity and frequency of what I'm doing. If it's something I do repeatedly (daily or weekly) I'm probably so used to doing it that explicitly using PM tools isn't fruitful. I'm more likely to use the PMI approach for projects like taking a holiday, moving house, or doing home improvements. Saving Changes...
