In light of donor funding uncertainties, such as USAID’s stop work orders, what practical strategies can professionals in the development sector employ to safeguard their careers, transition effectively, and position themselves for future opportunities?

Sylvia, three things I would recommend:

1) Diversify skillsets and work on continuous professional development.
2) Build a solid professional network.
3) Diversify funding resources (don't put all your eggs in one basket)

Hi Rami,

Thank you for your insightful recommendations! I completely agree with the importance of diversifying skillsets and continuous professional development. It's essential to stay adaptable in times of uncertainty. Building a strong professional network is also a great way to create more opportunities and gain support during challenges.

As for diversifying funding resources, that's definitely a key point—relying on a single funding source can be risky, and exploring multiple avenues will help ensure sustainability in the long run.

Thanks again for sharing your valuable perspective.
