Hello, my name is Paul Pelletier, legal counsel and PMP. I am a member of PMI's Ethics Member Advisory Group. The SNC Lavalin project scandal in one of numerous recent high profile project-related scandals. This case highlights the tremendous negative impact for the organization and all those associated to it. It also provides an opportunity to discuss the root of the problem, which is often based in a lack of ethical leadership or ethical decision-making.
How would you prevent this from happening in your projects or organization?

1. I would include ethics in the Project Charter (Values and Working Agreement sections) to increase the awareness of Team Members that this area is important.
2. In addition, Ethics (being a hot topic as it is), needs to be discussed during the project kick-off meeting.
3. It would be good to discuss ethics also during project retrospectives. Saving Changes...
