The 'Le Minitel' did not become The Intenet (or L'Internationale Network) because the French did not know the 'Le Minitel'was designed to be a Prototype on a Real scale for the next step which was the Internet, as determined by the mind behind 'Le Minitel'who knew that the microcomputer and distributed computing will dominate in the next coming years as indicated by James Martin.. At that time, there was a war raging between which language would become dominant in the world. French or English. Which language will dominate depended on the language used to implement the Internet. In the years of Le Minitel and the use of Le Minitel as a prototype to invent the English language dominated Internet, it was the time of Apartheid in South Africa which was poised to become maybe the worst human tragedy of its time and one of the major conflicts in human history with all its destruction of lives.

It's fascinating to think about how Le Minitel was ahead of its time as a prototype for what would eventually become the Internet! The interplay between language and technology really shaped its trajectory. It’s a reminder of how cultural and political factors can influence technological advancements. Thanks for sharing this insightful perspective!

The LAN or Local Area Network was used as a Prototype to test a network in a Lab environment @uniNat Fishbowl before the Final Wide Area Network which includes the Internet as we know it today was released. This Lab testing was giving problems when printing from different hosts using a manual switch. Then by chance @uniNat from a book called Computer Organization, a Computer Architecture textbook for CS students, he found the Multiplexer described in the book. Immediately he realised this could solve the problem with the manual switch in Fishbowl and this led to the invention of the first router which consisted mainly of a multiplexer which performed automatic Queiung and Routing . The router was fundamental in routing in the Internet and the eventual development of AI based (non-generative AI) Search Engine. (please see my post on search engines algorithms). Note the Router is not like most people would pronounce in English router as in route but pronounce Rout as forcing a route onto a packet. The LAN OS that was being used in the Fishbowl Lab was Novell Netware. The LAN architecture was widely used in businesses using Novell Netware before the coming of the Internet and for security reasons nowadays.
