Is anyone else really unhappy with this new website?

I dislike the layout and in particular all the adverts?
It "feels" very cluttered, which rarely helps as an organisational style...

I find it both very messy and very slow loading.

a) can the ads be switched off by each user?
b) given that we are already paying a decent sum annually, I struggle to see why we should be subject to these, especially so many and so obtrusively placed
