I would like to perform a schedule risk assessment (SRA) using a commercially available computer application on a MS Project 2010 schedule using three point task duration estimates. My objective is to determine probability of success on completion of key milestones which the customer stated need to be finished earlier. BTW, if you have the PM and they can do scheduling analysis, why do you still need to buy the software?

Hello Rosalinda, Three potential SRA tools were identified - one which is MS Excel based and two for MS Project. I still need to evaluate these. PM at my company does not currently have the capability to perform SRA using Monte Carlo analysis. We use Oracle Primavera Risk Analyzer (OPRA) which can handle both P-6 and MS Project schedules. OPRA is rather expensive and is one user per license. We also use @Risk for our smaller MS project schedules because of cost. Saving Changes...
