I have a question for Project Managers in Education, particularly in Higher education.

Do you think AI can replace human tutors?

I personally believe in a blend of human and AI tutoring for the student at Higher education level. Just like we have in Australia. For example at Deakin University where I am completing a degree in Cybersecurity, I use AI often to find answers to my questions. But I also need Human tutors and lecturers ONLINE to explain Complex abstract concepts and to answer questions that I cannot find answers for using Ai. The exercise of talking to a human is not the same as talking to an AI. I brainstorm and do problem-solving with the human which may be difficult with the AI.

So I think the best model is the Australian model, i.e a blend of Human and AI for higher education.

What are your opinions, Project managers? Particularly Project Managers in Education?

No, AI cannot fully replace tutors and teachers. While AI can enhance learning by offering personalized assistance and efficiency, it lacks the human qualities necessary for fostering emotional intelligence, understanding complex social dynamics, and adapting to the nuanced needs of individual students. Teachers and tutors provide mentorship, motivation, and emotional support, which are essential components of education that AI currently cannot replicate. Human interaction remains crucial in developing critical thinking, creativity, and social skills.
