I've had my PMP for over 15 years, I think it was PMBOK Edition 3. I want to do my program manager cert, but wasn't sure how much I need to relearn from PMBOK since it's now in the 7th edition. Also since it's been so long since I've needed to take an exam any recommendations on study products or software geared towards the Program Manager Cert?  I see lots of stuff out there for PMP studying.

Oh, and can you be a program manager and the project manager at the same time? I have had many programs with multiple projects all related to achieve a specific strategic goal and many times I was also the lead project manager or "coach" to other people functioning as the PM. Trying to figure out how to count the years of experience.

Tamara, when I completed my PgMP certification in 2021, I found that the Program Management Standard, the Exam Content Outline, and a set of good practice questions were more than enough to help me pass. While the exam has evolved since then, I still believe many of those fundamentals apply.

I also shared my lessons learned in a blog post, which you might find helpful as some of the tips are still quite relevant today:

Hope this helps. Good Luck with your preparation!
