This month, we shine a spotlight on your contributions, impact, and unwavering commitment to making a difference—not just within PMI, but across the profession at large.

Thank you for everything you do. Whether you're mentoring, leading initiatives, sharing your expertise, or offering support behind the scenes, your efforts are invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Get involved in the celebration!

Share your volunteer story or testimonial here- how have you been involved in volunteering at PMI?

We also welcome you to share on  your LinkedIn or other social channels- if you do so, be sure to include #PMIVolunteers and #GlobalVolunteerMonth to amplify your voice and connect with our global community.

Maria, it’s hard to believe it’s been over 10 years since I first began volunteering with PMI. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in several capacities, including:

1) Online Community Champion
2) PMI LinkedIn Group Moderator
3) PMO Awards Judging Committee Member
4) Contributor to Certifications and Courses Development
5) Member of the PMO Strategic Vision Team

Volunteering with PMI has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my professional journey. It’s not only allowed me to give back to a community I deeply value, but it’s also enriched my own growth, both personally and professionally. The connections I’ve made, the knowledge I’ve gained, and the impact I’ve seen reaffirm the power of volunteering in shaping the future of project management.

I'm proud to continue contributing to PMI's mission and to be part of such a passionate and forward-thinking global network.

Hi Maria,
From February 2024 to April 2025, I enthusiastically volunteered with PMI, embracing a variety of roles and responsibilities. Throughout this period, I had the honor of contributing in several meaningful capacities:

1. Online Community Champion
2. PMI Infinity Testing Opportunity
3. PMI Infinity Volunteer SME
4. Membership Communication Coordinator (Bangladesh Chapter)

Being part of PMI has not only enriched my understanding of project management but has also allowed me to contribute to a cause that is shaping the future of the profession.

The collaborative spirit and shared passion within the PMI community have been truly inspiring.

I am continually motivated by the dedication of my fellow volunteers and the collective impact we are making. Together, we are not just advancing our careers but also paving the way for future generations of project managers.

I look forward to continuing this journey and contributing to the ongoing success and growth of PMI.

Having been a PMI member since 1999, I've had lots of opportunities to volunteer at a local and global level including:

1. Serving as a Director of the PMI Lakeshore Chapter for six years
2. Participating in three PMP exam item writing sessions
3. Contributing to umpteen standards & practice guides - at this point I've lost track of how many!
4. Contributing content to PMI Standards Plus
5. Serving for multiple years as a community moderator for PMI's LinkedIn Project, Programs and Portfolio Management discussion group
6. Thanks to Kimberly Whitby and Laura Schofield, getting a chance to serve on the Ask the Expert panel at the 2019 Global Congress
