How can we integrate AI in engineering projects

I see AI use in project management of structural or construction industry. But do not have an example of use of AI in engineering industry like mechanical designing and fabrication of engineering machinery or systems

Mayank, AI is definitely making its way into mechanical engineering in some really interesting ways. A few examples come to mind:

1) General Motors has been using AI-driven generative design to develop lighter and stronger parts for their electric vehicles. It's helping them consolidate components and reduce material usage.

2) General Electric applies AI for predictive maintenance. By monitoring turbines and compressors, they’re able to catch issues before they cause downtime, which is a big cost saver.

3) On the manufacturing side, Siemens uses AI-powered cameras for quality control. These systems can detect product faults in real-time, ensuring only good parts leave the line.

AI has a lot of many practical applications in mechanical and systems engineering from multiple angles.

Computer aided design and simulation tools are used everywhere, and AI can greatly reduce the time needed to write the inputs needed for those tools. Products themselves often include significant amounts of code as well which can also be AI assisted.

Machine learning techniques are used to optimize the weight and strength of some critical aerospace parts. Shapes that were once impossible to manufacture can now be 3D printed (additive manufacturing) in metals like titanium. The pattern the printer will follow to complete the part may also be optimized using AI to reduce the manufacturing time.

Industries related to engineering have multiple possibilities for integrating AI in their processes.
*Mechanical engineering benefits from AI design, like AI-enhanced CAD, task automation, intelligent maintenance, etc.
*Electronic engineering uses AI for circuit simulations, PCB design, and fault detection.
*Civil engineering uses generative AI to evaluate design options, AI drones to monitor the construction, and AI applications to optimize materials.
Additionally, there are multiple AI applications for various types of engineering, including industrial, environmental, chemical, and others.
