Ronnie, I pursued my PMP first and later added a Scrum certification. For me, it was a worthwhile investment, especially as I began working more in Agile and hybrid environments.
That said, I believe the value really depends on your individual career goals and the direction you want to take. If you're planning to work in Agile teams, lead Scrum projects, or support organizations in Agile transformation, then a Scrum or Agile certification can definitely complement the PMP well. However, for others, especially those focused on more traditional project environments, it might not be as essential. And do you have hands on experience using that framework before considering the certification?
If you look at the CSM which is the most common Scrum cert which folks have, there are so many folks who possess it and it proves nothing about your ability to apply what you learned that I would question it's value.
And very few organizations implement Scrum exactly as defined in the Scrum Guide so you might get more out of a framework agnostic toolkit like Disciplined Agile if the nature of your projects lend themselves to adaptive approaches.
