Need clarity | Difference between two PMI eLearning courses - CAPM certification

Hey everyone,

Can someone tell me the difference between these 2 courses:

- Project Management Basics - An Official PMI Online Course: https://www.pmi.org/shop/p-/elearning/proj...ne-course/16125

and

- PMI® Authorized On-Demand Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Exam Prep Course: https://www.pmi.org/shop/p-/elearning/pmi-...ourse/el068

Both mention that they prepare for the CAPM certification and both are 23 PDUs. The content seems different though when looking at the modules.

I am wondering which one would be best for someone who has very little experience and knowledge in project management and would eventually like to obtain CAPM certification.

I don't understand why these 2 courses co-exist and which learners are targeted by each course. Anywho...would like to make an informed decision between the two.

Thanks for bringing clarity :)

The second link appears to be for the course specifically tailored for the CAPM exam. The first link seems to point to an older or more general course that isn’t fully focused on CAPM preparation.

Also, just a heads-up: the second link isn’t working—I had to Google the course to access it. You might want to update the link.,

Kimberly Whitby: FYI in case you have any additional info.

Hello Faydra M. - as Rami noted, the second course is the most recent. Here is the correct link - https://www.pmi.org/shop/us/p-/elearning/p...ourse/el068

I hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you Rami and Kimberly.

Kimberly Whitby Thanks for the link....unfortunately same issue with it in my post and the one you shared: can't access the page. Go figure.

Although one course could be more recent than the other, I think each has different purposes which would explain their co-existence. Still...confusing when you're new to the PM universe.

Rami Kaibni Thanks for your input and the heads up for the link. It is my understanding that one course (2nd link) is more geared towards exam preparation....like an optional extra step for those who want to make sure they pass the CAPM certification exam. The course probably offers typical exam questions that are to be expected.

Great day to both of you!

Faydra, you’re welcome and Good luck. They key is to practice as much as you can after you’re done studying. A good resource for simulation exams is PM PrepCast simulator!
