Interactive Timeline Software

We are looking to develop an interactive timeline of our Product Development Process and are looking for software options. We would like to be able to show durations, but not dates, so it can be generic (Month 1, Month 2, etc.) Has anyone used anything that they would recommend? The MS Project Timeline view is interesting in concept, but we are looking for something a bit more robust/interactive. At the end of the day, we would like something that new PMs can interact with and click an item on the timeline to open a template / web page with more detailed instructions.

You can go for custom development of a small application integrated with your schedule tool. If you found some thing better, please let us know.
