It's time that you review software applications. We would love to hear of what you think of the software packages you have implemented within your organizations. here are a few pointers to channel your thoughts.
(1) Business challenge?
(2) Use of technology (vendor or software used)?
(3) Time to market? (how long to implement)
(4) Benefits realized and/or challanges faced?

Hello, Vyom:

I was intrigued by your message title, and even more so by the questions that you raise. Yet, I see that you posted this message a month ago and have received no responses. As I work for what I consider to be the best of the software solution providers, I may not be able to provide an objective response. :-) I am however, puzzled and disappointed that you received no responses to your questions. What are your (or others') thoughts about the possible reasons for this?

Laura,

Usually, “Discussions” have been a powerful medium to exchange ideas, so I thought it would work for this topic as well. Apparently, the activity on this topic has been slow. I am not sure of the particular reason for this; maybe we need to use some other tool to communicate this. I am open to any suggestions you or anyone might have.

My intention is to generate significant discussions regarding the implementation of a particular package. Eventually, these thoughts and ideas would be invaluable in forming a basis for industry “best practices”. As an FYI “best practices” channel will be added to the department soon.

Vyom,

I think it would work better if you asked for reviews on specific TYPES of software.

Has anyone had experience with CA Continuum or PacificEdge

I think the lack of response has more to do with the "love em or hate em" I do some of both with the software I use; would take more time than I'm willing to take to craft an even-handed eval, and I don't want to go on a vendor-bashing binge.

I accept your feedback and opinions. The intention was really to educate Ganttheads based on real experiences that customers (you) have faced with different software and vendors. This could be good or bad. So I think the vendor bashing comment is not relevant. Anyway, I do agree that the scope of the discussion could be narrowed.
Thanks and keep the communication going! :-)
