Dear amazing community, I hope you are well.
I have a question for you.
I've heard a lot talking about adaptive leadership lately.
and I was curious to learn from you.

What do you expect (or not) from adaptive leadership?

thank you

Adaptive leadership is just another term for situational leadership which has been a well known concept for decades. The basic premise is that a single stance or approach to leadership is not suitable for all situations. An analogy could be made to conflict resolution - while collaboration is generally a preferred approach, there are situations where being directive or alternately withdrawing might be better.

As with everything else in project management, context counts, so it is up to leaders to assess the context and act accordingly.

Adaptive leadership means responding to change with intention, not reaction. I see it as listening deeply, adjusting styles based on context, and empowering others to solve challenges. It’s less about control more about enabling growth through uncertainty.

Yasmina, adaptive leadership is fundamentally about flexibility and responsiveness. It involves using a hybrid approach and adjusting your leadership style depending on the situation and the people involved.

Leaders with an adaptive mindset embrace change and foster a culture where experimentation and learning from failure are encouraged. It’s a powerful way to support both individual and team growth in the face of complexity and uncertainty
