Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

I am currently PMP certified and would like to further my education with obtaining a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.  Is there an organization that PMI recommends for that certification?  Also, any thoughts on if the LSS Black Belt is really a complimentary tool to the PMP?

Not sure if my earlier response to your previous (identical) post got deleted but I can't locate that any more.

In short, I said that if your organization doesn't have its own internal LSS certification function (which is common in companies which have truly embraced LSS) then look to ASQ (American Society of Quality) for training & certification.

And yes, LSS is a good complement to your PM competencies - more lean than Six Sigma unless you happen to work in manufacturing or high volume service.

Dawn, I too can’t locate my earlier response to a similar post of yours.

I did my LSSBB through Six Sigma Global Institute. They are a PMI ATP, their courses are self-paced, and well-structured.

In terms of being complementary to your PMP or not, it all depends what you do and which industry you operate within.
