Vikash, here's an article on moving up/sideways for your next job move: Sideways steps in the job market

It might help you assess the options available for your next move.

Thanks Elizabeth for sharing the article. its good and informative. Eight years back when i joined as software engineer in my first business organization many of my seniors suggested me not to change my track. Since I was a post graduate in computer applications so I should remain in technical field. But I was more interested in Project management field. At that time I didn't have a reason but after reading the article I m sure soon I will get good reasons to think about Project Management.

There are a number of paths, and none of them is "right" for everyone.

You can specialise in a certain type of project - either a specific domain of work or in something like project rescue, extreme projects, Agile etc.

You could seek to move into Programme management, portfolio management, PMO or other more specialist areas such as project risk or benefit management. Each of these has specialist qualifications.

You could move into project training.

There are many possibilities!
