I am new to PM, my current task leads/PM is looking for a way to track multiple milestones and the tasks associated with such milestone. We do not have MS Project or any formal project software so using Excel is mandatory. They are visual and would like to view in a rolling calendar format.
We coordinate education sessions to comply with contract obligations and need to make sure all steps to the event are completed.
Example – Event June 6 (milestone)
Multiple tasks by several individuals must be completed by this June 6 milestone.
There are also tasks required to be completed after the June 6 event to comply with contract.
Does anyone have an excel template they would be will to share that shows in calendar view, knowing the details are behind the scenes?
Maybe you've already found out - but I just wanted to ensure you know that there are lots of templates available when opening Microsoft Excel. If you choose to create an new spreadsheet the library will be shown and you can e.g. choose the project planner template which provides a Gantt view (which is a special calendar view, of course). But there are lots more and you may also want to browse through those on https://templates.office.com.

Hi Tammy, Thanks for bringing up the question.
Hi Christina,
Thanks for your suggestion!
Sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution!
looks like the "Weekly Time Planner" and the "Gantt project planner" from the https://templates.office.com would be perfect for my use.
I also had been searching for a simple tool/template to track my various tasks and to provide a simple visual for the management team, without the financial & hours, etc.,
I've tried out the MS Access, MS Project 2013 and found them to be a bit heavy for my purpose, the other excel templates found on the various websites weren't relevant for my use, and although those web/SaaS/ cloud based solutions were easier to use, however, those weren't allowed by internal policies.
