Hello All, I'm need advise on a software package that will help me manage projects in the simplest way possible. I've tried MS Project but there is alot there.
I really need to track due dates of each step in my interactive development and be able to see in a calendar view when certain projects need to be started and then what's due on what day throughout the project.
Tracking hours put against the project would be nice but we have an internal system for that. The internal system tracks hours by totalling up. I want to track hours and cost by debting down so that I don't go over my estimated costs.
Any suggestions from you experts out there. Saving Changes...
Jill, In my opinion MS Project is probably the simplest way. Anyway, since your needs may be limited I would even recommend using something as simple as Excel Spreadsheet or even the calendar feature in Outlook.
There are also some web sites that facilitate project team rooms like http://www.eroom.com/
Please feel free to email me with your exact needs. Thanks! Saving Changes...
MS Project will do all that you ask, and the learning curve is not too severe. We're in the processing of feeding SQL Server data into it to accumulate hours billed automatically. We're also working at extracting data from Project for quick management reports on project status... Saving Changes...
