As per me it will give you a great outlook about the present trend on PMO aspects. any PMI / PMO event will always bring new ideas, networking.
I have also attended PMI-Global congress happend in India without knowing much, but it gave me great values.
Choice is yours !

Hello, it depends on what you want to get out of the event.
The congress/symposium will be bigger and it might distract you as there are too many things you can accomplish with that kind of event. But yes, it is exciting, fun and I am sure informative.
If you want to really apply the PMO to your work asap, the work shop is better. I don't mean to imply that the congress/symposium is not going to give you practical information to use in your job, it is just bigger.
The workshop is focus on delivering specific results, and you have the professor/speakers to discuss with you as there are limited number of people attending.
its like choosing between buying a house and lot or a condo/unit. They are both expensive, but the criteria to buy is different and depends on your situation.
Save the congress/symposium when you have more experience. Or just choose between congress or symposium using a cost\benefit analysis or just easy calculation of how much it's going to cost to go congress or symposium.
Or you can also choose by the topics they are going to discuss. I hope these options will give you ideas on which investment to your education is better for your enjoyment and career. - rosalinda bernabe Saving Changes...
