PMI normally gives enough notice before changing exams (around 6 months). How long, no one knows but to be on the safe side, you should be ready to take the exam within 3 months of releasing the new edition to void any issues. Saving Changes...
Until PMI initiates a Role Delineation Study followed by the publication of a new Exam Content Outline, there will not be any major changes to the PMP exam. There will always be some turnover of questions being added, modified or removed from the overall exam pool as part of their normal quality control processes.
