First up i promise not to make any pitches here. My motivation for this post is purely to get information from PMs frustrated by the lack of features in whatever software they use.
I have a keen interest in picking apart things to see if there is a better way to do it. For example I've used lots of PM/collaboration software and they all have pros and cons but over and over again i still found the team only using it occasionally for managing tasks.
So i tried to analyze why and long story short in a lot of cases you'll get pings, emails, IMs, phone calls while in the middle of another task and its just not practical to stop what your doing a write up a task. So the problem was really getting the tasks in there. So i came up with a simple solution that allows you to copy any text or image, then send it to the webapp with 1 click into a queue to be turned into a task later when you have time.
That was a simple problem with a simple solution and i know you guys if you sit back and think about it have lots of similar simple problems everyday with PM and collaboration.
I was hoping you could share those problems so i can try and come up with a good simple solution. I want to try and look at it from a fresh angle, for example instead of thinking how can i improve gantt charts instead i want to try and understand what data you are trying to visualize, what is the problem your trying to solve and see if there is a better way to display it.
I realize gantt charts might be a bad example but my point is i am more eager to see if there is a better solution than just improving on the old solutions that clearly dont work.
