I am working on a project and our first delivery date is FAST approaching. The contract (which HAS NOT been signed by the client) has a very aggressive delivery schedule.
I have been able to complete some preliminary work so that once the contract is signed my team is ready to go. However, until the client has signed the contract, no additional work hours/resources will be spent on this project.
Can anyone share some good and effective internal messages that I can incorporate into an email that I send to the Sales Manager?
Here's what I have so for:
"Just wanted to check in to see if the client signed the contract. We are fast approaching our first delivery date of next Friday, with a very aggressive delivery schedule for the remaining tasks. Do you foresee a problem with the client signing the contract by [end date]? We would need a commitment this week in order to meet the [enter month, day] delivery date.
If the contract is not signed by [enter date] I would like to suggest we set up an internal meeting to discuss next steps which includes resetting client expectations.
Your e-mail looks fine to me. However, I recommend that you remove the word 'Just' in your first sentence and reword it as "I am checking in...". This way, your e-mail will sound more serious and commanding. Saving Changes...

John,
Thank you for your feedback and advice. Duly noted and I have already removed "Just checking in".
Have a nice weekend.

If the contract is not signed, there is no commitment/agreement by the company and the client. Any work performed and expenses incurred by the company is at risk and may not be paid by the client. As a result, the company's internal schedule has not been validated.
Typically, contract's are issued by the client to the company in the form of Notice of Award (NOA) Letter, which is based the client's contract/Scope of Work and on the company's bid/proposal. In turn, the company signs and returns the Letter to the client.
NOA is the formal Letter that summarizes the contract scope, delivery dates and contract duration, specifies the contract price and payment arrangement, and identifies the client's representatives. The delivery dates are normally a function of the NOA date and the delivery dates are described as __ days after NOA. Saving Changes...
