hi Puteri Anuar,

With reference to Page #129 Figure 5-11 PMBOK Guide Fifth Edition, your WBS should be something like this (Considering an R.C.C. Road):

1. R.C.C. Road Construction Project
1.1 Earthwork
1.1.1 Area Clearance
1.1.2 Excavation
1.1.3 Sub-base preparation
1.2 Paving
1.2.1 Form work fixing
1.2.2 Laying of Re-bars
1.2.3 Concrete pouring

Please note that it can be broken down further.

Thanks and best regards,

Ranjit

Hello,

That's correct.

Your WBS will be broken down into the 5 Project Management Phases
in which you will develop the processes that forms each part.

Road Construction Project:

1. Iniation
1.1 Project Management Plan
1.2 Quality Plan
1.3 HSE Plan
1.4 Environmental Management Plan
1.4 Public Outreach
1.5 Finance Management
1.6 Permits - Government Red Tape

2. Design
2.1 Environmental Aspects & Impacts
2.2 Road Way Structure & Drawing
2.3 Drainage
2.4 Additional Structures eg. Bridge
2.5 Traffic Flow ( if area is active)
2.5 Land Survey
2.6 Aesthetics and Landscaping Development in line with 2.2

Each one is further broken down into the sub categories. You can use many tools to complete this such as:

1. Flow Chart
2. Gantt Chart via Project Management Software or
3. Even excel

Hope this helps!
