why is it important to follow the company's organizational policies and procedures when performing quality control activities

In addition to Rao Vasudeva G answer , I would say quality procedures to develop and test a needle(Product) will be different that of developing and testing swords(Product). Quality procedures for different industry differ as per the product , market , customer requirements. etc.
