Jefferson is the Project Sponsor for the Coastal Oil & Gas Project. The Project is in the mid of its execution phase. There is a critical scope change request which has been got approved from the Change Control Board (CCB) by Mr. Kawai, the Project Manager. Kawai knows very well that neither Jefferson nor the Client is a member of the CCB for this Project. What should the PM do NEXT?
A. Implement the approved change request immediately
B. Consult with the Project Team for implementation
C. Get further approval from the Sponsor before proceeding further
D. Change the Scope Baseline before implementation since this
approved change request being a critical one

Answer: C [Get further approval from the Sponsor before proceeding further], because, addition of scope will lead to change in other plans like cost management, schedule management, Human resource requirement. May be change in base lines also.
So it is better to apprise project sponser and get his approval Saving Changes...

Option A) is wrong, because since the sponsor is not part of the CCB but gives the money has of course to be informed immediately before implementation.
Option B) is wrong, because since the sponsor is not part of the CCB but gives the money has of course to be informed immediately before consulting the team for implementation.
Option D) is wrong, because since the sponsor is not part of the CCB but gives the money has of course to be informed immediately before changing the scope baseline.
Option C) is correct, because since the sponsor is not part of the CCB but gives the money has of course to be informed immediately before anything else.
Option C) is correct
Personally I would prefer Option E)
E. Ensure, that the sponsor is part of the CCB. The work of the CCB is useless, if the sponsor overrules the decision if the CCB. A CCB without the sponsor or a representative of the sponsor who is allowed to make critical decisions has no value. Saving Changes...

Thanks Datta Raju & Hannes for your nice explanations and answers. Yes , the Correct answer Option is Option # C. Get further approval from the Sponsor before proceeding further
Justification:
As per refer Page # 96 PMBOK Guide Fifth Edition , which states that :
"Customer or sponsor approval may be required for certain change requests after CCB approval , unless they are part of the CCB."
