Fanell Verwey-Massiah Welcome to the community!
It’s great to have you here.
Whether you’re new to PMI or already an experienced project professional, joining this network is an excellent step toward expanding your knowledge and certification goals.
Here are a few practical tips to help you move forward with clarity and focus:
1. Clarify your certification path - Review the different PMI certifications and choose the one that best matches your current experience and aspirations.
If you’re formalizing your knowledge, the CAPM® is a great starting point.
If you already lead projects, consider the PMP®, PMI-ACP®, or PMI-PMOCP®, depending on your focus area.
2. Set your exam date early - A clear target date brings structure and accountability to your preparation. Without a set date, commitment tends to drift.
3. Build a structured study plan - Break your learning into weekly goals and include:
- A thorough review of the Exam Content Outline (ECO) for your chosen certification - it defines exactly what you’ll be tested on.
- Study of the PMBOK® Guide (7th Edition), the Process Groups: A Practice Guide, and the Agile Practice Guide to reinforce key concepts, terminology, and cross-methodology understanding.
- If you’re preparing for the CAPM®, also include an introduction to the PMI Guide to Business Analysis to cover the Business Analysis Frameworks domain.
- Regular practice with exam simulators to strengthen knowledge application and time management.
4. Engage with the community - Ask questions, share your experience, and connect with peers from different industries.
This space thrives on collaboration and mutual learning.
Keep your goal visible, learn consistently, and remember - certification is not just a milestone; it’s a reflection of the professionalism and discipline you already practice every day.

Welcome to the community, Fanell. In addition to what my fellow colleagues mentioned, I recommend you connect with your PMI local chapter, if any, as you might find lots of learning opportunities there. Saving Changes...
Dear Fanell, welcome to the community! It's a wonderful space to share thoughts, learn new concepts, and receive good insights from other members.
About sources that could strengthen your understanding, I recommend Rita Mulcahy's learning solution; it's a good option to acquire PM Knowledge at your own pace, and is updated to the latest exam. Visit this link:
