What AI online training courses from PMI are you all taking, that are current/2025?

I've been taking some of the online courses in AI in Project Management offered on the PMI website and they are hard to apply since they are older/2023. A lot has changed. I'm finding I can't tell until I'm into the courses and they start sharing resources that they're older.

Anyone found a path or course(s) that you're loving and would recomment - that are current/2025 applicable?

Kimberly, this is an interesting comment. Between last year and this year, PMI released five AI-related courses (free for members) that provide solid introductory guidance on getting started with AI. The first course came out in 2023, with the remaining ones released in 2024 and 2025.

I’m not sure if we’re referring to the same set of courses, but one of the courses is Practical Application of Gen AI for Project Managers.

If these are indeed the courses you mean, could you share what aspects you’re finding difficult to apply?

The most recent one I took is Data Landscape of GenAI for Project Managers, and the resources and discussion boards it points to are from 2023. It appears to be in the same set as Practical Application of Gen AI for Project Managers. Hm. I'll give the others a try and write that up as an anomaly.

I had the same problem with older (2023) AI courses, but PMI now has a set of updated free GenAI courses. The most relevant 2024/2025 options are:

Generative AI Overview for Project Managers
Data Landscape of GenAI for PMs
Talking to AI: Prompt Engineering
Practical Application of GenAI for PMs
AI in Infrastructure & Construction Projects
AI in Agile Delivery

All of these are free, current, and much more practical than the older content.

If you want to go deeper, PMI also launched the updated CPMAI™ certification path, with a free introductory module.

These have been the most useful and up-to-date resources I’ve taken so far.
