I have CPMAI v7 and PMI states does not expire, but at the same time offers changes to PMI-CPMAI. My questions:

  1. What exactly does the transition entail, is there another exam and what is the pass mark?
  2. I get the PDU requirement, what is another benefit of this for those that have transitioned already?
  3. If I opt not to transition, do I still have access to the learning materials (equivalent to PDUs)?
  4. Has anyone done it and are you able to share your experience in the forum?

Many thanks.

Sheba, I've done the transition. If you have the CPMAI v7, then you will see a message under your certificate that asks if you'd want to transition to the latest certificate. If you chose to do so then:

1) The process will take a minute. No exam required. You just need to confirm a few questions and that's it.

2) Your new PMI-CPMAI will have an expiry date every three years so you will have to renew and pay $60 just like all other PMI credentials.

3) You will always have access to the original course. As long as it is under your Library, it will always remain there as far as I am aware.

Hope this helps!
