I dont think SCM has a separate PM assigned. Rather it would only be a SCM manager (in project, under a PM). Please correct me if I am wrong.

- the best approach is to use a SCM (version control) tool and set policy of using it within a team. This will make auditing and control of CI's more efficient.
What makes SCM PM distinct?
- The person in charge of SCM is surely important as his approach to keep the CI's intact with integrity paves way to make decisions for change management and other activities in project easier. Also proper SCM plan reduces redundancy, rework, errors, etc

The concepts of PM can be utilized for better implementation of SCM and in that case it can be construed that PM is part of SCM.
What if the SCM has something process(es) to be changed and within the supply chain you have to carry out a temporary endeavor to create something unique? Will it not be PM within the SCM? Saving Changes...
