What elements are involved in the masterplan? What is taken into consideration when making one?

I see a company masterplan as the intentional blueprint that connects strategy to execution over time.
It usually brings together direction (vision, priorities), constraints (budget, capacity, risk), and sequencing (what happens now, next, and later). What matters most isn’t the level of detail, but clarity on trade-offs, dependencies, and what the organization is deliberately not doing. Without that, it’s just a collection of initiatives, not a plan.
