Outside consultants are developing order entry/fulfillment application for our company now. I am appointed as PM to engage/train team of internal developers to transfer ownership of the application to. This internal team will assume responsibility for production support as well as for potential modifications/enhancements. Any ideas, experience to share how to make this transition successful ????? I just went through a similar process few months ago. The most important task was to get the outside consultants to document their work and pass the knowledge too my internal people. Since the outside consultant's weren't part of our Internal network ,we created a secure web site to collect project info.We used a simple web collaboration tool in order to collect all the information from our consultants in a central repository.I can e-mail you the name of the package and send you few standard procedures that helped the process.
