AI is moving from answering questions to actually doing work.

For project managers, that changes things. And I want to know how it's landing in the real world.

I'm doing research for a new PMI course and I'm looking to have short 20-minute conversations with PMs about how their work is evolving. Whether you're already using AI tools that take action on your behalf, or you're just starting to notice the pressure to change how you work — I want to hear from you.

No expertise required. No right answers. Just an honest conversation about what the job looks and feels like right now.

Drop a comment or send me a message if you're open to chatting.

Thank you, Kimberly Whitby ! That link is giving me a 400 Bad Request error, though. Is there a different link?

Hi Michael Brinn - perfect timing. As you may know, PMXPO, our premier free virtual event for Project Professionals, takes place on 26 March. One of the presenter's session is all about AI. She also created a post yesterday about the overview and would like folks to chime in. It may be worthwhile placing your questions here

The conversation about Agentic AI is beginning to touch on a key point for project management.

For years, we have mainly used AI to analyze or respond.
The next step is different: systems capable of acting within workflows, automating operational decisions, and coordinating tasks.

For project managers, the change is structural.
The question is no longer what information AI produces, but rather what decisions or actions it can execute within the management system.

It will be interesting to see how PMs are beginning to integrate these agents into planning, monitoring, and portfolio management.

Interesting topic,

Michael. With tools like PMI Infinity already introducing AI capabilities for project managers, I’m curious—when you mention Agentic AI in PM, are you referring to specific platforms or AI agents that actively perform project tasks? Would love to know which tools or implementations you’re currently exploring.
