Hello experts,
I have a client who runs a manufacturing company.

They want me to do consultation for their production automation system, which includes hardware and software both, as I think.

Can I have some ideas so I can complete this work to success?

Thanks for your help

I am assuming that your customer is looking for a system to automate their production, if so here it is my suggestion:

1) Run a Value Stream Map across their main process
2) Identify what is added value and non added value in their system
3) Call for a meeting and present to them the Present Method of Operation this will help you to make sure that everybody agrees on the current AS IS model
4) Work in the Future Method of Operations and list the improvements that can be done in the following way: quick wins, short term, medium term and long term
5) Define with the customer which are the criteria of prioritization to implement the step 4
6) Call for another meeting and present your findings in order to get their agreement on the scope
7) Build a ROI for those initiatives plus its schedule and in parallel implement the quick wins in order to reduce the pressure for quick results
8) Call another meeting and present your plan
