Curious to know - On a typical work day, how much of your time goes toward chores and routine noise, versus actually learning and contributing to real value?

I’ve been reflecting on this myself, and it often feels like a certain portion of the day gets consumed by low-impact activities; status updates, coordination, meetings where I multi-task or administrative work; leaving limited space for deeper thinking, growth, and high-value contributions.
What has helped you create more space for meaningful, high-impact work?

Honestly, not as much as I’d like. A big part of the day still goes into coordination, follow-ups, and meetings.
What has helped me is being more intentional about protecting small blocks of time for decision-making and thinking. Even 1–2 focused hours can make a big difference in the value you actually create.
The balance between routine noise and meaningful contribution depends entirely on discipline and intentional planning. In today's digitisation era, it's easy to allow your day to be consumed by reactive tasks like unnecessary meetings and digital distractions, mistaking busyness for productivity. The truth here is, those who consistently deliver real value are not necessarily working harder. They are working with greater clarity about what truly matters, protecting their time and executing against a plan rather than responding to noise.
