It’s never too late to transition into project management, especially if you start by applying it within your current field. I’m not sure which subject you’ve been lecturing in, but you already bring strong value as a subject matter expert.
Many of your existing skills are highly transferable to project management. For example, have you managed groups, coordinated activities, or organized events in your role? These experiences are directly relevant and can be framed to highlight your project management capabilities on your resume.
With the right positioning, your background can make for a strong and credible transition into the field.

Not at all—it’s definitely not too late. Many project managers transition from other professions, and your experience as a lecturer is actually very valuable.

Skills like communication, structuring ideas, and guiding people are highly relevant in project management. With some practical exposure and learning (like PMP or Agile basics), you can make a strong transition

Not late at all.
Your experience as a lecturer is actually valuable, communication, structuring ideas, and working with different stakeholders are core PM skills.
The key is to connect what you’ve already done to project work and start gaining practical experience, even in small initiatives. Many people move into project management later in their careers successfully.
